Festival organizer RC Hazzard released a statement on the festival’s Facebook page Thursday afternoon.

“That decision to cancel had to be made by noon Wed October 7th due to venue & security contract deadlines,” Hazzard said. “We tried to relocate indoors, and were forced to cancel altogether today when that was proven not an option.

Neon Jungle Festival was scheduled to take place Oct. 9-10 at Gratz Park outside of Rupp Arena in Lexington. Celebrity DJ Brody Jenner was booked as the event headliner.

All tickets will be refunded within the next 30 days depending on the point of purchase. A free concert will be scheduled to accommodate the inconvenience.
